Nixon at Sunnylands



When President Obama met with China’s Xi Jinping at the Sunnyland estate in California, he joined several other U.S. presidents who took advantage of the architecturally stunning house, spectacular collection of furnishings, and acres of landscaped grounds. Richard Nixon made bookend Sunnyland visits, once as president-elect and again after resigning the presidency. Like Obama, Nixon also famously “pivoted” toward emphasizing relations with Pacific Rim nations.
